The Rosebank Farms produce stand is an icon to residents and visitors of Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, and Johns Island. Rosebank Farms is known for offering seasonal fruits and veggies, most of which Sidi and his crew raise on his 75-acre farm. In addition to delicious produce, Rosebank Farms sells a variety of goods including fresh-caught seafood, fresh honey, eggs, and locally sourced cheeses and grits. Are you looking for fresh local Seafood?
Rosebank Farms sells fresh local seafood. You can find fresh tuna, flounder, grouper, snapper, salmon and local shrimp. Please email Rosebank Farms by noon the day before with your fish and shrimp orders to ensure they have the seafood you desire.
Rosebank Farms supports local Lowcountry artisans. The stand often has a selection of sweetgrass baskets and locally themed paintings made by Lowcountry artists.
If you are lucky when stop by the stand you might catch a glimpse of Sidi himself! His long-time partner Louise Bennett is a retired school teacher and the heart and soul of Rosebank Farms. Ms. Bennett tenderly cares for flower seedlings and plants. She is omnipresent and loves to share delicious recipes and farm stories with customers and visitors to the stand.
Visit the Johns Island Farmers Market
Guests will also find produce from Rosebank Farms at the Sea Island Farmers Market on Maybank Highway. Offered every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the market features organic fruits and vegetables, other local food products, fresh flowers, and vendors selling authentic Lowcountry items. Get a bite to eat from a food truck and peruse a wide variety of goods like fresh pasta, spices, handcrafted candles, olive oil, jewelry, and much more.
What’s in Season?
Unlike other regions in the United States, the Lowcountry of South Carolina has a unique climate that allows farmers to grow an abundance of fresh produce throughout the year. Visiting Kiawah Island in the summer? Expect to find juicy peaches, zucchini, melons, tomatoes, and sweet corn in season. The fall is the best season for crisp apples, grapes, pecans, and sweet potatoes. The Lowcountry also has crops that flourish all year long including beets, parsley, cilantro, leeks, and many leafy greens.
