Your Guide to the Cooper River Bridge Run
On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!
Based on the number of runners, the Cooper River Bridge Run is the third largest 10k in the United States. Nothing prepares you for the excitement of race day! Crossing the Ravenel Bridge is always a treat when traveling by vehicle, but nothing compares to the breathtaking views you’ll see when traversing the bridge by foot.
The race begins in Mount Pleasant and finishes in downtown Charleston. Once you cross the finish line in the Holy City, you can look forward to entertainment, food, vendors, souvenirs, refreshments, and plenty of fun. The race takes place on the first weekend of April. Proceeds from the event benefit a variety of charities.
For the Kids
The Cooper River Bridge Run is a race for young adults and adults. It is important to note that strollers are dangerous among such a large crowd. Baby strollers are only allowed in the last corral of walkers across the bridge on race day, but it is discouraged. If you would like to bring the kids for a race across Charleston, the Kids Run is perfect for you.
The Kids Run is the day before the main event. Bring the kids out for a fun day of face painting, magic shows, pony rides, live music performances, and more.
